✅ Ingredients
For the meat
- 400 g beef (rib, rump or fillet, thinly sliced)
- 1/2 onion (thinly sliced)
- 1/2 carrot (cut into thin strips, optional)
- 2 spring onions (cut into fine rings)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnishing)
For the marinade
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
- 1 tbsp mirin (or apple juice for a sweet note)
- 1/2 small pear or apple (grated, for tenderness)
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
👨🍳 Preparation
1️⃣ Prepare the marinade
- Mix all ingredients for the marinade well in a large bowl.
2️⃣ Marinate the meat
- Add the thin slices of beef to the marinade and mix well.
- Add onions, carrots and spring onions.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (2 hours or longer for best flavor).
3️⃣ Fry or grill meat
- Heat a pan with a little oil or use a grill.
- Fry the marinated meat over medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes until golden brown and juicy.
- Finally, drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle sesame seeds over it.

✅ Traditional: Serve with rice and kimchi.
✅ Wrap style: Wrap in lettuce leaves and enjoy with ssamjang (Korean seasoning paste).
✅ Extra spice: Add gochugaru (Korean chili powder) for a spicier version.
